Hi all (mysteriously autocorrected on my iPad to Hail?!),
We've established the Airdrome Aeroplanes WW1 replicas are hardly in abundance in NZ, most likely due to the single occupant scenario and lack of general practicality - mind you, if someone mounts a Gotha raid over New Plymouth I would scramble to buy one!
So how about another almost equally vintage machine designed explicitly for homebuilders? The Pietenpol Air Camper and it's singleseat derivative the Sky Scout. I have personally seen one very sharp example up close and personal at Omaka during my limited tenure there, as well as a very fine example in a book on classics/warbirds by John King (I forget the title).
Let's see your Pietenpol pics! I bought the plans a few years ago but simply didn't have the space and income to get it started, but now I'm starting a new job and have moved into a place with a garage, so she MAY be all go. Will keep you posted. So in the meantime I'd love to see some images for inspiration.

Here you are Zac, 2 photos of the Belworthy's one, taken at a very soggy AACA rally at Rangiora about 25 years ago. It has since been re-engined with a Cortina motor instead of the original Model A

Do you have the plan with the one piece wing or three piece wing? If the latter, I was wondering if the three piece is just for ease of construction or do the outer panels come off if needed?
