I was wondering how many forrumers will be at this show north of London. I'm heading down for the naughty field and rough camping on saturday night enter the airshow on sunday; will be wearing 2007 omaka bi planes t-shirt. Would be great to see any of you while there, anyone up for it?

A quick word of warning about the 'naughty field'. I was advised this weekend that the policing they've been threatening to do of that field for a while now, will be more vigorous this time around. They've certainly been keeping a very keen eye on people in there in the last week or so as the early arrivals for Legends have shown up...

With all the warbirds force landing in nearby fields recently you'd probably be safer in the airport bounds than over the fence.

I understand your warnings; some thing that isn't apparent at first is this field is ajacent to the airport and not before and after take off vector for display line; It also has the benefit of the sun behind you not the aircraft which is the way it appears inside the airshow. This side is farm land; paddocks and such....Britain is chock full of rules regarding safety.... people have to assertain their own risk; remember the signs they had for car club events which said "motor racing is inherently dangerous and you enter here at your own risk" ok so you might not take the kids....If i get there and I think that there is more risk than I have said here I wont do it no probs.. after better pics. Michael you are right!; there has been alot of speculation about this...we never see displays like Keith skilling's at Omaka here in the UK; I never felt unsafe there...just very excited! Maybe they could look at the Wairarapa/ Omaka set up for display around the crowd instead of very far away, this is a prop fighter display so the footprint required for safety is not as large... Will you be there on sunday Michael? brilliant photos by the way!

Does the naughty field have some kind of validity in terms of the place to be, other than the obvious "view the show without paying/contributing" aspect? I would hope so.

Had a message this morning saying the Police will be in heavy attendance around said field, after the show organisers and the land owner agreed that his permission is not given for people to enter and use his field, thus resulting in trespassing.
Afraid I'm not, I'm in NZ until October then back home. I'd probably have been at Yeovilton anyway, I won a photo competition and got tickets there as a prize. Alas, travel is not included!

I've just returned yesterday from the US & UK, having been away for 3 weeks with the prime goal of attending The Flying Legends airshow as well as RIAT. I witnessed the mid-air collision between the Skyraider and P-51 and although the pilots were fine that is not something I ever hope to experience again I'll be downloading my photos over the weekend and hope mto post a few here in the next couple of days... needless to say these were fantastic airshows and an adventure that i'll never forget

I've just returned yesterday from the US & UK, having been away for 3 weeks with the prime goal of attending The Flying Legends airshow as well as RIAT. I look forward to seeing the pics. I will be attending RIAT and Duxford Flying Legends in 2012 plus a trade day of Farnborough hopefully. Just after any tips as I have never been to RIAT or Duxford shows before. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. For info next years shows the Riat and Farnborough dates have been altered due to the olympic games. I think Duxford is now the same weekend as Farnborough public days. Cheers potters.
