Check out this film of a massive model of Mac Hodges' B-29 Superfortress complete with Bell X-1, and the aerobatics at low level for a huge model are jaw dropping - flat spin, stalls, outside loop, etc!

yeah that was pretty cool till it crashed. Didn't realise how big it was till I saw them bring all those broken pieces back from the paddock. It was a good thing I watched it as other B29 movies on youtube from that I noticed were of one they found on the arctic circle and were trying to repair and fly out. The Kee Bird. I had remember reading the story about this many years ago so watched the whole thing. Was a sad end but was very glad I found it and watched it.

No I agree with you there Shorty, I don't think we'll ever see the CAF's Fifi doing these manouvres, but I was very impressed with the manoeuvreability of the large aircraft, and his fairly low level skilful flying.
Oh no, did it crash in that other link? I don't want to look. All the huge models seem to crash eventually. Have you seen the massive C-17 model from the UK?

A friend has just got a 9 foot wingspan Lancaster , I have said to check out this B29. He has soloed on a Piper Cub and will find the Lanc a handful as there isnt an OTU for them !
