I am Frank Norris' step son & I have his log books with that green endorsement. I can provide a copy if you want. I have only just become aware of this forum I would welcome a copy of his green endorsement to add to my growing amendment file for Colin Hanson's By Such Deeds - Honours and Awards in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, 1923-1999. Colin is now deceased but, as publisher of his book, I keep track of corrections and new information with a long term aim of publishing same as a supplement to his magnum opus. I note that Frank also held a private pilot's 'A' Licence (No. 1624), issued on 4 Decenber 1939, which suggests that he may have undertaken training with an aero club (Nelson?) prior to his enlistment in the RNZAF on 22 March 1941. I have sent copies of his log book pages to your e mail address. Further to this story Frank told me that after investigations it was determined that the engine failures were the result of sabotage. Both engines came off the assembly line together & all the clearances were to small. Other engines were checked at the factory & found to be faulty as well.

Frank never flew again after returning from the war. His last log book entry is for March 8 1945 & just says operations as detailed, with no details.

Wow, I have heard of sabotage in the Lockheed factory, but did not know it went on in the Bristol factory too.
