While the show offered a good variety of aircraft on static display I was a little disappointed by the flying displays. None of the heavies flew nor did the f-16s on display. There were a few highlights, the A-10 West Demo team display was fantastic. On the Saturday it was cut short however after a number of pieces fell off the aircraft after a high g maneuver. They flew a full display on the Sunday with the back up aircraft. Seeing the C-5 and B-52 up close was also a highlight.
The helicopter displays were nothing compared to the ones flown by RNZAF Iroquois and RNZN Sea Sprite crews.
I also think our warbird pilots put on a better display with their aircraft, faster and lower passes.
In all honesty the last Whenuapai airshow featured a much more impressive flying display.
I still had a fantastic time but it just makes you appreciate some of the fantastic displays we take for granted at home.

Great pics, some fantastic machines there even if their displays were lacking a bit. And the quality looks okay on my screen.
