Shit that is awesome! Why do such items come up when I'm flat broke?

I think rather than a mail bag it is actually a personal kitbag, as the number on it is the service number of Eric Theodore Ross, who was a Fitter and originally a member of the Auckland (Territorial) Squadron pre-war and then the Auckland (GR) Squadrona and NZGR Squadron as seen here.
