Outstanding, need a proper camera and some skill.
I was under the impression that 747's were being used less and less by airlines around the World in favor of 777 and 767's.
What route and frequency does Air New Zealand use their 747's on and am I correct in my assumption that they are being retired?

Michael, simply brilliant mate, great photos. I love the Air NZ 777 ones, especially the taxiing shot. When you return to the UK be sure to post some stuff from there too, not so ten-a-penny around these parts

They are being withdrawn as the B773 fleet is introduced. 2 have recently left or about to leave for Israel to be converted to Freighters.
Last time I looked, the 747 fleet roster was doing 1 service a day to SFO..... that is it.
They have been recently called in to cover tech breakdowns on other fleets, making trips to Oz and Japan.

It's like 747 city on the Engineering ramp and down by the 'A380' area.
