MAKS-2011 Airshow

The MAKS international air show was held over the last weekend and the always interesting englishrussia.com website has several photo essays with a lot of aircraft you don't normally see, like the new gen.5 Sukhoi T-50.

I've got to admit in a weird way the new Su-34 looks really cool to me.

Watching Sukhois doing stuff that no jet fighter has any right doing, always makes me chuckle out loud.

Look at those nozzles wiggle....................

Bit surreal seeing a B52 landing at a Russian airfield!!

MAKS is definately one of the best airshows around... Its well worth a visit even if its only something you do once in your life. I went in 2007 and it was awesome. Crazy, and full of lots of drunk people, but I saw aircraft do things you just cant see anywhere else. The highlight for me was four Su-27's practicing their ACM's above the airfield for about 30 minutes, trying to get behind each other and popping copious amounts of flares. I wish I could go back and photograph it again with the skills and gear I have now, but hopefully will get to it again!

Great pictures, the video clip shows aerobatics that I have only ever seen models do, and they usually ended with a smash. I would rather like the blonde newscaster to do a few aerobatics as well .
