wasn't there a guy who was supossed to have been in the team and everybody thought we needed him. too bad he was away snoozing on top of heat pumps. I see what you did there ;D I always thought that was an odd commercial. We've had bad luck with # 10s this year; the game was won by a replacement for a replacement for a replacement!

After last night's game I was wondering if being number 10 for the AB's was something akin to being the drummer for Spinal Tap. I'm surprised Cruden didn't just spontaneously combust on the pitch ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Well thats it all over and a big well done to the AB's and the whole country for such a superb event. It all begins again today with the road to World Cup 2015 in England and defending the title.
Anyway there is another World Cup here in NZ in 2015.....The Cricket World Cup and we are co-hosting with Australia and that should be a fantastic event with our team building towards this event now with a host of new talent coming through.
Anyway thats it.

Auckland City Council has announced that they have decided to retain the Cloud on the wharf as a permanent venue. Great news, it has proven very popular and I think will remain a great asset to the city. Also New Zealand Post has released a new commemorative set of All Black World Cup Victory stamps today: stamps.nzpost.co.nz/new-zealand/2010/all-blacks

Cartoonist's uncanny Cup predictionThe Dominion Post | 5:00AM - Tuesday, 25 October 2011 UNCANNY: The Tom Scott cartoon that appeared in The Dominion Post the day before the Rugby World Cup final.IT WAS a tongue-in-cheek cartoon, but turned into a prophecy.
"Why don't I have this luck with Lotto numbers?" cartoonist Tom Scott was wondering yesterday after his cartoon in Saturday's Dominion Post picked the way the Rugby World Cup final would unfold.
The cartoon depicted a rugby fan having a recurring nightmare in which Aaron Cruden was injured in the final, forcing the much maligned Stephen Donald onto the field to kick the goal that would determine who won or lost.
That's exactly what happened. When a knee injury forced Cruden off before halftime, Donald was forced to make his cup debut in the most pressure filled situation.
And after Piri Weepu sent three shots at goal astray, kicking duties were handed to the fourth-string number 10. But as the country held its breath, Donald calmly stepped up and nailed a penalty — and it was that kick which gave New Zealand its one point advantage when the final whistle blew.
Yesterday, Scott was bemused at how prophetic the cartoon had been. Although he had depicted Donald being pulled off the bench as a nightmare, he was happy to be proven wrong.
"I was really thrilled for him. He came on and played really well, he was really steady."
Scott wasn't sure if he had a natural knack for prophecy, but said the way the French played in the final showed you should never write people off — so maybe there was hope for Labour at the election, with a result that may be much closer than anticipated.
"That's my second prediction."www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/5843644/Cartoonists-uncanny-Cup-prediction

Tom Scott is a brilliant cartoonist who seems to have a knack of hitting the nail right on the head. Here are another couple of his RWC-related cartoons, the first one published Wednesday last week and the other one today.... ![](http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/RasputinDude/Cartoons%202011/5811229sr_DivineIntervention_19Oct11.jpg) ![](http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/RasputinDude/Cartoons%202011/5843509sr_RichieMcCaw_25Oct11.jpg)
