How often are you all replacing these? I have a Rotax 447 and I am replacing the plugs after what I assume was 30 or so hrs. Probably don't need to as the plugs look ok but I don't know when the owner before did them.

Darren, did you resolve anything with this situation? I drove up to Max's funeral and thought you might be there, but I see you were working. Such a crowd,-probably wouldnt have found you anyway--I was too busy re-aquainting with old friends!
Thing is,I have a LOT of NGK BP8ES-plugs. I wont bore you with how I got them but I wondered if they might suit the Rotax. They are too cold for my car,unfortunately. I understand the 'P' is "projecting insulator ' whatever that is. i also read that the plugs for Rotax should have a fixed terminal rather than the screw on type terminal nut,as they do tend to come loose. these are normal screw on type let me know if you're interested--price is right!

B = Thread size (14mm ) P = Projected insulator ( higher than normal centre electrode / insulator ) 8 = Heat range E= Thread length S= Electrode material ( from memory S is copper )
Also IF I remember correctly , the ones with a fixed terminal will have a K ( BK8ES ) ? Also if a resistor plug is required there will be an R ( BPR8ES ) .

Thanks for that Bob. May just take you up on that. I replace mine every 25hrs so I assume the ones you have are new? Yes, they can screw off so it's a good idea to check them at regular intervals.
