Happy New Year to you all, hope all went well and everyone is safe and sound. A mate of mine passed this to me, which I thought would be of interest, so here it is: It was published in the Dec 2007 edition of the NZ Antique and Historical Arms (NZHAA) Gazette..... ( funny place for something like this)This was published as a two page spread.

Cheers Sean. I saw the display that someone had at Armistice in Cambridge 2006 on his career, it was jolly interesting. Good to see he's been remembered here to.
But where in the Waikato is Hoe-o-Tainui? On the west coast?

Wow was talking to my Father this weekend about Jimmy as he flew with him during the war, He flew typhoons on 184 squadron and I have a few photo,s of my father and the Squadron with Jimmy holding on to the camp mascot. Would include them but not sure how to do it. Is he still alive today or does anyone have contact with family as I doing research on this squadron.

Dave, I can try to find out how to contact Kathy Arnold, the exhibitor who had the display at Cambridge last year and wrote the article, though it may be a difficult task. Leave it with me and I'll see what I can do.

A very interesting chap. Is there any more about him?
I'm a huge fan of Bert Wipiti's career but am continually frustrated at the snippets I've found to date.
