Do you know this man?

George Victor Morrison was born on 19 April 1920 and served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force from 1943.
I have something for him, or for his family.
About a year ago, my fiance and I found Mr Morrison's RNZAF identity card in a gutter in Allendale Road, near our old home in Mt Albert.
It is in quite good condition, considering where we found it, but some of the words written in pencil have rubbed off. A photo of Mr Morrison as a young man, frowning, has come through remarkably undamaged.
We immediately took the card to a nearby rest home but no-one there had heard of him. We took the card home, and called the RSA, but got the impression that if we sent it to them it would sit in a drawer and never find its way home.
So what did we do? We put it in a drawer for safekeeping, and forgot about it. Yesterday we remembered it (and felt terrible for leaving it so long) and I'm hoping one of you can help us find the rightful owner.
I have checked the electoral rolls for the area and had no luck, and I'm not quite at the point of ringing through every Morrison in the phone book. We may get to that point though.
In the meantime, please have a good look at this photo, and pass this story on to any Morrisons you know.
As always, you can reach me via comments here, or at

Fingers crossed!
