So as some of you may know I'm currently working in Canada flying helicopters. Just thought I would share a few photos from my adventure so far. Excuse the quality, they're off my phone. Chinook helicopters fleet of Bell 47s that I did my licence conversion on. ConAir Electra water bombing practice at Abbotsford. Helicopter Transport Services main hangar at Carp, Ontario Bell 206L3, Kuujjuaq airport. First Air 767 freighter. Dropping geologists off to look for gold. Slinging fuel out to where we were working. Waiting for the rock doctors. Bell 206L4, CTV News, Toronto. CTV Toronto, lots of toys.. Cheers, Dave

Great stuff Dave. I like the artwork on C-GKLY. It must be cold in a Bell 47 in Canada!

Great stuff Dave. I like the artwork on C-GKLY. It must be cold in a Bell 47 in Canada! Luckily it was summer when I did my conversion on them. Coming into winter now but the CTV machine that I'm currently flying has a good heater and is almost brand new so doesn't leak like most 206s.

Great pics Davel, thanks so much for sharing. Just out of interest, where up north did you fly? I only get to see the canadian north from 35000ft as we come down over the north pole etc etc, but it looks like such magnificent country.

Great photos, Dave - thanks for posting.
Looks like you've had a bit of varied work up there.
The hangars look well insulated too!

Thanks guys. I mostly work on the Eastern side of the country. Helicopter Transport Services main base is near Ottawa. The first few photos are around a place called Kuujjuaq which is in northern Quebec. It was a 10 hour ferry flight from near Montreal up to there and 90% of the way there was no sign of people.
I spent a brief stint out in northern BC with another company filling in before coming back to HTSC to fly the news machine in Toronto. Will probably go back out to the bush next summer.

Turbo Otter on floats, Kuujjuaq. 2 of the geos walking out to the helicopter and some of the Air Inuit fleet at Kuujjuaq. Astar (north American name for a squirrel) towing a 'bird' Brand new EC225 on delivery to CHC Brazil from France. EC225 cockpit North Eastern BC gas fields. The ground is so soft if you land anywhere other than the pallets the machine will sink. Servicing a radio repeater site. Have to be on your game coming in between all the support wires. Flare stack at one of the gas plants. US Army Blackhawk at Fort Nelson, BC. Downtown Toronto. 7th busiest airspace in North America, bit of a change for me than not having any one to talk to out in the bush. Took some of the controllers a bit of time to get used to my accent, a lot of "say agains" to start with.

Great shots.
If you look just to the right of downtown Toronto in the last photo you can make out Toronto Island airport - a tiny airstrip connected to the city by a ferry. We parked a C130 there in the early 90's and spent the weekend in Toronto. A very, very big time was had by all.
