Thanks Damon. I'm a bit disappointed with the script, I had to handpaint it after I found the oldmodels decals to be completely unsuitable. At least I got to use the rego and with some modification the James logo on the tail. Even looking at it now I know its going to be wiped off and I'll have another go.

It's the Esci kit ,right? I think thats the better of the two thats around at the moment. From memory you posted a picture that you had made additions to the underneath of the fuse. as well?

I changed the picture to one more sympathetic to the crap script.. Its the Italeri kit which has its faults with accuracy but looks the part to me, is readily available and builds well. As you recall, I made hopper boxes for it.

Real nice, thanks for sharing the pics. What was wrong with the oldmodels decals out of interest?

That looks really good. Nice to see a DC3 in a non military scheme. I too am interested in what is wrong with oldmodels' decals, as i have been tempted to get a few for civil aircraft, but wouldn't if they are no good

Well, I dont want to put anyone off oldmodels decals because I appreciate his enterprise. In this case however, the stripes were unusable because they had pixillated edges, the script, registration letters and James logo are pixillated and overscale, as well as being an approximation of the correct fonts. I used the logo but it required a fair bit of touching up to make them acceptable. Having said all this Dad created a very nice model of AZA, he bought the decals and passed on the surplus to me. I cant comment on his other decal sheets.

Thanks Alias. You must be a dab hand at the hand brushing I reckon this Dak deserves a karma, good work.

Thanks, but I wiped off all the 'James Aviation Ltd ' not long after the pictures were taken! They were painted with enamel but just didn't look right, as I said earlier the picture here is sympathetic to my efforts. I'll try again I suppose, or create my own decals.
I have two more Italeri Daks in the cupboard with at least one becoming an Ag Dak in the future, the Kiwicolours decals for BBJ are lovely.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a spare set of Fieldair Kiwicolours decals they could part with?
