From home.nzcity.co.nz/news/default.asp?id=50675 Report shows PM's plane was operated safely and professionally by the Air Force. 16 May 2005 An investigation has cleared an Air Force crew of flying dangerously while transporting the Prime Minister. Hokitika residents voiced concern the King Air craft was flying too low as it approached the local airstrip on January 23 this year. The plane was taking Helen Clark to the town to attend the opening ceremony of a nearby marae. Two attempts to land were aborted before the plane touched down in low visibility. An Air Force investigation has found the crew followed the rules. Flight safety officer Flight Lieutenant Lisa D'Oliveira says the report shows the plane was operated safely and professionally. She says the crew were very experienced and well placed to make appropriate decisions. © 2005 NZCity, NewsTalkZB
