This thread on FlyPast Forum suggests the former NZ2417, and ZK-CCG, is being restored in the UK. Is this true? forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?p=667243#post667243adf.serials has it's last known whereabouts as flying in the USA. The poster also shows a different maker's serial. Any ideas if there's truth to this story?

Im pretty sure Kermit Weeks still has this aircraft. If it is the one Im thinking of it was owned by the Macdonald family and flown around NZ doing shows etc sponsored by Mobil I think. I know Greg Macdonald, who is the previous owners son, I will ask him next time we speak. As for the Mustang sold to Nelson, it could be the P-51 that is with the John Smith collection at Mapua, Nelson (alond with the Mosquito, Hudson, etc etc etc etc etc...........).

Thanks Ryan,
Yep, Ben made an error, he meant NZ2406, which is also not John Smith's one. His is NZ2423.
NZ2406 seems a bit mysterious. See my later posts to the FlyPast thread.
It would be interesting to see if your friend Greg has any photos or stories to tell of NZ2417/ZK-CCG though.
