This thread is for the upcoming show we hope to bring you very soon featuring an interview with forum member, aviation photographer and author Gavin Conroy.
Gavin has kindly agreed to the interview and has been patiently waiting for me to get the issues and bugs sorted with the system. We are nearly there so I really hope to get the interview recorded asap now, and will be arranging a time with him shortly.
In the meantime, whilst I have already got a nice long list of questions for him to ask, has anyone here got any questions you'd like me to put to Gavin? If you do, please send them to me by email at dave_daasnz@hotmail.com and I'll add them to my list if they're not already on there.
I'll post up here when the interview has been recorded but get those questions in quick as it may be any day this week.
In the meantime don't forget to rush out and get Gavin's book Precious Metal and his 2012 Warbirds Calendar for stocking stuffers.

What Digital SLR(s) and lenses would Gavin recommend for us budding amateur airshow photographers, ie the ground bound ones ;-)

Great work Dave, and thanks for being part of the show and forum, Gavin! It was great to hear you talk about your technique and experience becoming a professional aircraft photographer.

Good show! Covered all the points I hoped it would. The point about practicing panning hit me when I looked at my shots from TVAL in January. I immediately planned practice before Ohakea, and it definitely paid off. Thanks for all your contributions Gavin, and also for your work on the show Dave.
