On my Auster rebuild thread I tried to fool everyone that I had flown my Auster. Clearly haven't but did fly this: I downloaded the sim from here: www.britsim.com/Its free which is a bonus and although made for Microsoft Flight Simulator 9 it does work in FSX (Thats FS10 for those going huh?) Everything works including the badly placed flap lever! Cockpit is well detailed. Here we go, full power and tail is up and airspeed climbing Not an approved turn after takeoff but hey what are they going to do? Arrest me? Thats the end of the nor west runway at Christchurch.....or the beginning of the sou east runway! Note the wing root fuel gauge. Great views out the back. Still climbing, want to do some aeros. Ok up into a loop Not too shabby. Lets try a roll. Ooops should have raised the nose first! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Phew that's better pull up pull up! This one is a bit better! Coming into Runway 02 (into the North) and I'm frikin low. Ah well flare onto the grass.......hard landing! I don't think that compass at the top of the windscreen is quite to scale! And here we are all safe on the ground, flaps still down. Apart from the fact that my Auster will have all over white wings the colour scheme is close to what BBZ will one day wear.

Nice one Baz. That flap handle really is in an awkward position. Undershot, ah well. Blame the Nor Westerly?

New Zealand ? I thought Baz was throwing a British registered machine about the sky just to the South of Perth... possibly Bunberry. Perhaps a bit of continental drift going on.

Ok so there is mine (BBZ not airworthy at present), then BCK which is airworthy but will be grounded now for a while as the engine is coming out for another Auster (same family they have three of them.........). I know one other is being repaired after an engine failure (I think) which is BDY I wonder if some of the others got re lettered when Lycoming engines went in place of the original Gipsy Major?

Hi Baz...I guess you know but there is a very nice freeware FSX native Auster Aiglet available at the usual sites (there is some NZ schemes for it too)
