At approximately 12:35 today from Addington I could see an aircraft which appeared to be in the vicinity of Christchurch airport making a wide fast circuit followed by a low-level high-speed run (behind the buldings from my point of view) followed by a slower circuit and landing(?) I couldn't hear anything (due the stinking nor' easterly) and couldn't make out an accurate silhouette. It appeared to be a jet (fighter?) due it's speed and size.
Any clarification? Photos? Brian's Strikemaster?

...'twas a Vampire T11. Saw it again and land at NZCH. Tucked in to bed now.

That's a great shot Matt well done, and good to see the jet back in the sky.
We thought about bringing the Nanchang down but the due to the rubbish and changeable weather we gave it a miss.
Hope the event went well.

Poor old girl had an engine hiccup just after I left to go up so I had to do a quick about face. Spent the whole day trying to sort it but no joy, still struggling with it.
