With the removal of the Naval HQ building and its great flagstaff the adjacent area is open as a DOC reserve. PLenty to See















Next door, Philomel remains with new buildings and a repaint for the rest. The entry sign lists RNZN Band, Trade Trainging School, Officer Trainging School and Leadership Development being based there

Very interesting. It is a shame at all these Navy and Army defences become DOC conservation areas but Hobsonville which is equally historic gets carved up for housing.

Council zoning and location two main reasons I can think of .
