Terence Gardiner posted to Royal New Zealand Air Force Association (Inc) Was privileged to lay a wreath at the National War Memorial this morning on behalf of veterans of the battle of Singapore, and to meet two veterans of 488 (NZ) Squadron RAF, Clem Randall and Hugh Nelson, both still in pretty good shape. "Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou - lest we forget".
In Wellington this morning the Association's National President Air Commodore (Rtd) Terry Gardiner laid a wreath at the National Memorial to commemorate the surrender to the Japanese in February 1942 of the British, Australian and New Zealand forces based in Singapore.
