I found this to be quite enjoyable and informative. Filmed during the war the video tells of the US Navy's night ops using the Catalina in the Pacific - targetting Japanese shipping. I 've never seen Catalinas sporting torpedos, i've always seen them with bombs or depth charges but never 'fish'. I was interested to see the underwing platforms the armourers used for working on the bombs & attaching them to the aircraft. As always with these wartime movies there are a few 'cheesy' bits - hamming it up for the folks back home but overall it shows some interesting footage. Hit 'fullscreen' and enjoy www.archive.org/details/gov.archives.arc.12990

Great footage, if not, as you said, a little cheesy at times. Thanks for sharing the link.

Looking carefully at the background, I'd put money on the air base being Segond Channel, Vanuatu.

Good find,enjoyed that,thanks.
Interesting statistic,"for every pound of bomb dropped,a ton of enemy shipping sunk or damaged". I wonder how accurate that is?
