Board Members I am trying to trace a living relative of one of the five pilots killed during WW2 and buried in the St Eata Churchyard in Shrewsbury. The reason being that a cousin of mine places a poppy on their crosses each Armistice day and would like to tell a relative that they are cared for and are in a beautiful place. I have found a niece of the Aussie and talked with her. I am now looking for a relative of the New Zealander- Sgt. Pilot L.G.R. Donaldson NZ405241. From this site (thanks to Dave H) - www.caverswall.org.uk/spitfire-vb-sgt-pilot-donaldson.html, the Acknowledgements has reference to the "family" (and others)- “Documents provided by kind permission of the family; Mr K. J. Slinn, Correspondence from Mr G. Kennell”. I have run a search on this board but did not score any hits. I wonder if there is anyone on this board who can assist with these references? Thank you in anticipation. DeeTee

DeeTee,
You could place a (free) request in the 'Lost Trail' columns of the Returned Services Association of New Zealand magazine RSA Review. The editor can be contact via dion@waterfordpress.co.nz

You could also put something on www.rootschat.com/forum (if you prefer me to I will as I am already a member) the NZ forum members have been very helpful to me in the past and very quick with answers. You could also put something in the local paper for the area that he came from as the family may still be there..They love something unusual. There is also the Royal New Zealand Air Force Assn who may be able to help (and though hes not Bomber Command?) the New Zealand Bomber Command Assn. By the way do you have a pic of the grave as one of the other forum members on here is trying to get a pic of all Kiwi airmens graves for a project someones doing. I have been to Shrewsbury Cemetary and taken a pic there because one of our 75ers is buried there but I didnt know about your Sgt Donaldson else I would have done him too (my dad lives at Hadnell!)..
