In the Warbirds Over Wanaka 2012 thread there was mention of past appearances at that airshow by the RAAF. I thought it is worth starting a new thread all about RAAF appearances at kiwi airshows.
What can you recall seeing? Where and When? Even which specific aircraft annd crew emmebrs if you have the details. And show us your photos or videos.
My iniital thoughts are:
RAAF Caribous have appeared at: Aviation Showcase '80, Hamilton - 8th & 9th of November 1980 Ardmore Airshow - 4th of March 1990 Classic Fighters, Omaka - Easter 2007 Classic Fighters, Omaka - Easter 2009
RAAF F-111's have appeared at: Warbirds Over Wanaka - Easter 2006 Whenuapai Open Day - 2007
RAAF F-18 Hornets have appeared at: Whenuapai Open Day - Solo - 2009 Warbirds Over Wanaka - Fourship- Easter 2010
There must be many others. Please add your memories here.

An RAAF F-111 attended the Aviation Fieldays, Hamilton Airport, 3-6th of November 1977.
(at the same airshow Sqn Ldr Keith Skilling flew a nice low pass in an Andover, there's a photo in NZ Wings!!)

At least two 3SQN F/A-18 Hornets appeared at the Christchurch International Air Show in 1987, as well as a couple of 1SQN F-111s.
This was the first time I'd seen a Hornet in the flesh (so to speak - I was fully clothed at the time!)
Two 77SQN Mirages buzzed Wigram at the 1981(?) Wigram Wings and Wheels. Baz and/or Obiwan posted some photos of this in another thread.
At least one (maybe two?) F-111s flew several passes over Wigram for the 50th Anniversary of the Southern Cross' crossing of the Tasman in 1978.

Thanks Craig, Was that 1987 airshow the one where the international air race finished there, and the prize was a Tiger Moth?
Of course in the olden days the RAAF used to send over Canberras too. I believe they attended: RNZAF 21st Birthday - 1958 Wellington Airport Opening - 1959

I've also just remembered that there is film footage of RAAF Mirages at the opening of Auckland Airport in the 1960s, when they were still in their original bare metal and silver finish. An F-111 also made an appearance at an air show at Timaru Airport in around 1982?

Oh, I'd forgotten the 1981 Ohakea air show where several Mirages and F-111s attended and were displayed. I suspect there may have been a RAAF Canberra there as well. It's moments like these that I wish I had my Wings magazines here!

Of course there is the possibility that Royal Australian Navy aircraft and helicopters may also have attended our airshows?
And Neptunes? Orions? Hercules? Boeing 707's?

Yes F-15 & F-4E (didnt fly)...
Apart from recent shows I remember the Canberra, F-111s and Mirages at the '81 show and the F-18 at the '87 shows at Ohakea and the F-111 at the '77 show at Hamilton.
I have some slides that my Dad took at the Auckland Airport opening which incldes the Mirages in their silver scheme.

I'm pretty sure an F111 dump and burn occurred at the Whenuapai Golden Jubilee air show in 1987. But I will have to flick through my old photos when I get them back again. In addition to those already listed, I think there was also a RAAF P-3 at Air Expo '92.

***RNZAF 50th Anniversary Airshow Ohakea , 4th & 5th of April 1987***
I was at that Airshow on the Sunday (my first real airshow) and I seem to recall the Aussies sent an F-111, Mirage, and brand new Hornet and had solo displays with all of them. I also think there may have been a Carribou which displayed as well. The thing I remember most was the Mirage coming in low and fast and there being an almighty "boom". Someone said it was the plane breaking the sound barrier, I wouldn't have thought so being so low but I've always wondered what it was.

The F-111 displayed at Wanaka for the last time in 2008. One also displayed at Woodbourne in 1983 from memory. C-17 displayed at WOW 2008 as well.
