There are currently 2 of these clasps (seperate sellers) on Trademe. First one expires in a couple of hours. Price is around $800
BTW, I'm after a Pacific Star if anyone has one they want to sell? I'm trying to complete my fathers set and that is the last medal I need.

How would you be able to be sure the Battle of Britain Clasp was a genuine item before paying $800 minimum for it? And is it really worth it? I mean it's a few cents worth of metal. Far more valuable to me is the experiences I have had meeting and chatting with Battle of Britain veterans. That is priceless.

Notable about both auctions is the lack of history or offer of documentation as to whom these particular clasps were awarded to. One of the sellers has had an unanswered question on his auction for days now. Why is he/she so coy, one wonders?

On a previous sale there was a lot of discussion (or a link to it) regarding how you tell the genuine ones from the fakes. Some of the clues are concerned with the location of the attachment holes

Unable to check the links as I am at work but will have a look tomorrow. Certainly sounds dodgy. I have took a photo of the BoB clasp that USED to be at the Ohakea museum. I try and locate it and scan it in for you as well
