Did the airshow at Whitianga that was scheduled for yesterday happen in the end? Did anyone go?
I'm assuming the Tiger Moth meet in Taranaki and the aerobatics competition at North Shore were cancelled due to Saturday's weather?

Not actually - due weather. A reasonable crowd gathering and ground displays considering the weather. Gavin Trethewey and Peter did a short but very nice 2 ship display in Harvards, a gyrocopter proved how amazingly scary they are but flew a nice display anyway. Couple of chipmunks, 2 harvards, gyrocopters, T51, few GA aircraft, Tecnam and Westpac BK117 etc. The weather precluded all the rest of the warbirds and probably many others from attending which was a real shame as it looked like it would have been a well attended intimate gathering otherwise.

At least there was some flying on Saturday. What a shame the weather has turned to muck.
