Looks like a great spot to visit. I'm going over for the Jubilee Airshow at Duxford, and probably do the Wings and Wheels at Shuttleworth the day before,so will add an extra day on and go here. The trip will be aviation and whisky themed,so there'll be plenty off pics after it. Thanks for posting.

Great shots vs. Is that a genuine Lancaster fuselage or a replica? Both sides are in RCAF colours by the way, No. 405 Squadron was RCAF in WWII and postwar. www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/h405.htmlI love that Wellington.

Hi Dave, the Wellington is amazing. It was found while searching for the Lochness Monster!. I think the Lancaster nose section was real.

Great to see! Brooklands has some real interesting things scattered around that site; it's a real pity they don't have bigger display areas; that hangar is chokka with stuff.
The Lancaster is part original and part reproduction; the nose section is from Lanc Mk.X KB796 a Victory Aircraft Corp example built in Canada, whilst the fuse is a reproduction. Still looks the business though.

Great pictures! It's about time they finished off the Viking (to the right of the Viscount picture), it's probably the rarest aircraft there, being the only survivor.

Mid-upper turret position perhaps on another bit of Lanc fuselage??

That'll be my lysdexia kicking in at an inopportune moment... KB976 used to be G-BCOH and was imported into the UK by Sir William Roberts at Strathallan, Auchterarder in Scotland; it was intended to fly but was sold in the Strathallan auction in 1981 and went to Charles Church, but it suffered damage when a hangar collapsed on top of it. Kermit Weeks bought the remains and the rest of it is in the USA now except the nose section, so the rest at Brooklands is reproduction. I think its owned by a chap called Jeremy Hall. I remember hearing about the Lanc from when I lived in Scotland - I was an honorary member of the Strathallan Aircraft Society, even though the collection had been dispersed years earlier, but I wasn't aware of how much 'Lancaster' there was at Brooklands. I don't know how much is going to be built. Should look the business when its done.

The Viking looked quite good. The thing I liked about the museum was that a lot of the aeroplanes were open and you got to sit in the pilots seat, was really suprised that a few of them were powered up.
I am seriously thinking about having a go in the Concorde simulator

Cool Pics VS, stuff like this makes me feel really privileged to have lived quite near to brooklands when I was in the UK (Kingston, which is just up the A2 and was the home of Hawkers for a long time) I used to pop into the museum quite regularly whilst wifey was over at the adjacent retail park at the big mothercare spending all our money! My favourite civvy there is the Vanguard, and here is the link of then getting it into brooklands It via my iPad, so just type in vanguard landing brooklands if you have a PC, it's interesting stuff.

Great stuff Haughtney1!
Vs, did you see the TSR.2 nose section? Is it still there?

The Vanguard was very cool. We walked up the back stairs and an ex engineer ended up showing us around the flight deck for around 45 minutes. Was all powered up as well! They also had another nose section of one beside it.
I did not see the TSR.2 nose section. It may have been there...we totally ran out of time as there was so much to see! I think there is part of a Valiant there as well.
We had a chat to an ex RAF bomber pilot who knew the chaps restoring the Anson...small world!

You should have a go in the Concorde simulator VS, you don't want to kick yourself later for not taking such an opportunity! Great pics and marvellous museum, thanks for sharing them mate.

Hi Vs, glad you had a great time. I was kind of hoping they had the TSR.2 cockpit open to the public; it was a procedures trainer, but its interior is still a mystery to most:
