I have today just sorted a 45 minute flight in a Planes Of Fames P-51D Mustang at Chino airport in Los Angeles on Saturday 20th October 2012.When I spoke to them today the flight goes out over lake Matthew and does some rolls and loops then does a couple of high speed low passes back at Chino. I have to pay special thanks to those members who told me to sort a B-17 flight out and I went to get effort to do,but the B-17 is in Los Angeles area in April/May and on the East coast when we will be there. So in the end I had to do something and paid double the price for this....boy am I excited! Can anyone recommend a well priced digital camera that takes excellent photos of fast moving aircraft from a distance. Reason for this is we will be at Fleetweek in San Francisco and they have the Blue Angels perform there and I would love to post those pictures here on my return. Again many thanks for making me get off my bum to arrange this.

Well done Raptor.
A co-incidence - I am in LA for a couple of weeks next month to play with my little grand-daughter. And I am phoning Chino tomorrow as I hope to arrange a flight in the Dauntless.
Especially important to me as it is a genuine Kiwi Warbird.

All this talk of these incredible flights overseas makes one paticularly jealous . Enjoy, and make sure we see some pics! Macfire, how will Green Watch cope without you for the fortnight?? Your dulcet tones over the LMR will be missed

I didn't know people could buy rides in the Dauntless. I hope you take photos or footage Tony. It will be a unique experience.

Dauntless and Mustang rides; I envy you guys!
Did VS ever do his Concorde simulator ride?

Not yet, but it is defiantly on the cards. A mate of mine is probably doing it as we speak, so I will get the run down.
Mustang ride would be toooo much!
I have ticked of 747 in my logbook, just Spitfire, Mustang and Concorde to go!

Has anyone here actually flown in (or flown from the cockpit) Concorde? The only guy I knew who had a few rides in it was the late Pat Monk, who years before the flights had a hand in the design team.

Great news Raptor, that will be some experience! I'm still trying to get there for the B17. I was going to book a taxi in Just Jane this year, but it's booked out 'til at least next March. You're right about the comments on NZ,I get it a lot,and if there's one thing they all agree on,they prefferred NZ to Oz,and that includes Aussies! You can get very small, like you're car door opener,hd video cameras, relatively cheap(about €30)on e-bay,might be able to mount on the helmet you wear, and record the flight.

It was a choice between this or a flight in a DC-3. Still haven't flown on a DC-3 yet. Different aircraft. G-BOAA today. Would love to go up in a P-51 or a Dauntless for that matter!
