One News just had a piece on how they have discovered eight US soldiers are in NZ training NZ soldiers at Linton, the first time US taining has taken place with our troops since ANZUS fell apart (according to One News anyway).

Plenty of US SNCO's have been through our SNCO training courses and we have sent a few on theirs.

These eight soldiers from the US were training our soldiers how to use tazers, bean bag guns and pepper spray. I was thinking "Finally the army is going to do something about those moaning bloody port strikers".
In the old days the army would have been in there with horses and batons and forced the lazy sods back to work. Or at least off the pavement.

I was wondering what the "non-lethal" weapons were...Yes, its a good way to start our future relationship with the Yanks. Look foward to training with "lethal "weapons soonish!

Come on Jonesey, you know that the last Govt phased lethal weapons out of the military as they were against Health and Safety, and political correctness.

The Americans are teaching New Zealand servicemen and women how to napalm babies and strangle old ladies with barbed wire. The Green Party of Aotearoa.

Come on Jonesey, you know that the last Govt phased lethal weapons out of the military as they were against Health and Safety, and political correctness. I worked with a guy who went to East Timor with the army at the early stages of their tours there. His catchphrase was that he could kill me with "a blade of grass". Such was the level of his training with lethal weapons. He did struggle however to cut his sandwiches cleanly with a knife. Yes, eagerly awaiting the comments from John Minto, the Green Party and other various peaceniks...

Not biased are we Dave? I reckon the the Ports CEO should be sacked! No they shouldn't be sacked, if they think the new contract is so good why don't they show some leadership and lead by example by adopting the same working conditions they wish to impose? "John, you don't need to come into work until Thursday morning for that meeting with Mersk. Oh by the way, your salary is now pro rata so you will only be paid for the time you spend on site."

Why does the Army need US troops to give them weapons training? Why not contract the Uruwera terrorists?
