Yup... is looking great.
I was looking at flying my new octocopter from the town side of the lake to get the pre-launch aerial 100-200' photos tomorrow but I've only got 15 minutes of air-time on it... I'd like a bit more testing before flying in public surrounded by water and people... It is an awesome machine but that isn't the reason to skip testing!
Being safe is a real bugga some times!

I'm at work so no fancy editing or photo hosting Perfect wind conditions this morning with katabatic wind currents (thanks to the lake) giving a circular vertical cycle enabling some balloons to take-off and fly away and circle back over the lauch area. Haze over the lake and high cloud made it a photography nightmare! Like I said... no fancy editing at work. Pete Attachments:

A cloudy morning at Hamilton, with some haze in the air. Otherwise perfect ballooning weather. The slight wind was south-west, so the departures were into the rising sun which also made photography a little difficult. Three special shapes were on show, the star being the Cameron Balloons KIWI-90 N6566K The other two were Kangaroos The second 'roo departed facing away from the crowd, you can't win them all! There were a couple of locals I had not seen before. ZK-MET is a South Island based Aerostar S-77A while ZK-FBA/3 is a Kavanagh C-77 from Wellington KubĂcek BB22Z ZK-FRG hails from Matamata The weather forecast for the next few days seems to favour the event. I'm off to bed - its a long time since 4.15 this morning.

Fantastic shots Peter. For the first time ever they plan to have a night glow in Cambridge on Friday night. I'll be in Ohakea though, typical!
