Please excuse my French (Pardon the Pun) but F*** those are magnificent shots!! So gutted I didn't go to this one... Seeing more of the second Albatros AND a new D.VIII.... simply outstanding... Really can't wait to see what they have by November!! Speaking of that, does anyone know what TVAL are currently working on?

Was that two RE8s or the RE8 and the BE2F I saw with the BE2C?
Was there any sign of the new Sopwith Pup?
Terrific shots as always, everyone :-D

No sign of the Pup.
Do you realise that since November last year TVAL have debuted 5 new aircraft? That works out at nearly one per month!

Is this RE8, BE2F and BE2c behind? It looks almost like to BEs or REs up front!

Zac - The Pup is based at Omaka, and has only recently been brought to airworthiness so is more than likely still going through the test flying stage. Will be great to see it mingling with the TVAL machines at Omaka '13 though!!

Ok. That seems odd as TVAL have their manufacturing and test-flying facilities in the North Island. I was aware of the Chariots Of Fire Fighter Collection's Pfeiffer-build replica at Omaka.

Will be great to see it mingling with the TVAL machines at Omaka '13 though!! Except that a TVAL-made Pup was recently (12.04.12) registered: www.regosearch.com/aircraft/nz/PPYThis is different from the Omaka-based replica (which isn't made or owned by TVAL).

Oh my bad!! Had no idea about that one! Apologies mate. So now TWO Sopwith Pups in New Zealand...

This is the Omaka Pup... The TVAL Pup is rumoured to be named "Betty". And for Zac, there is only one RE8 flying. It is easy to distinguish from the BE2 as the RE8 is green, has a four-bladed prop, vertical exhaust pipes and a stripey rudder... ;D Cheers, Brett

"So now TWO Sopwith Pups in New Zealand"
Three if you count the one at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand.
When I visited the TVAL hangar recently Gene de Marco's interesting tour included the info that the RE.8 and the BE.2 have a lot of the same parts as they come from the same factory and the RE.8 uses a lot of stuff already in production from the earlier type.
Brett said: "Do you realise that since November last year TVAL have debuted 5 new aircraft? That works out at nearly one per month!"
That is a fantastic achievement, and even moreson when you realise, as Gene told us, there are only seven people working on building these aircraft at the factory!!

"Three if you count the one at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand."
Four if you count Dan Frew's one under construction at Omaka! (although, I'm don't know if it's advanced enough to be called an aircraft yet....)
