In September 1928, when the Fokker Trimotor VH-USU 'Southern Cross' touched down at Wigram, Charles Kingsford Smith was carrying a Union Flag (aka Union Jack) with him which had come from Sydney Hospital.
It was presented to the "Limes" Hospital. Somehow or other it later ended up in the possession of Lady Wigram, widow of Sir Henry Wigram, father of the Air Force.
On the 10th of April 1941 Lady Wigram visited RNZAF Station Wigram, and she presented the historic Union Flag to the Wigram Officers Mess. it was mounted in their Ante Room.
Is this flag still around now? Does the musuem have it perhaps?

Amazing if it is still around in good condition, what a great piece of history to have.
