Also great stories on German speakers on ground bases in Britain, including them managing to talk in a lost German pilot to Woodbridge, Essex, in a Junkers 88, with the latest equipment. What a hoot! and wouldn't the German lad be sick as a dog! The German speaking 8th crew member was often a Jewish lad from the East London and a lot were from Oz, NZ, Canada... The SO had to recognise words like Capella German code for target altitude. In other sites, I've read that there were nonGerman speakers, who blocked the German transmissions but they could be confused with women's voices or music would be put on. It's worth a visit, I think.
