Scoop.co.nz reports that one of the RNZAF Boeing 757's made an emergency landing on one engine on Friday at Whenuapai.
The crew reported a fault in the port engine about 11am which could not be rectified.
The engine was shut down and the aircraft circled for about an hour to burn off fuel.
There was a full turnout of emergency services but the Boeing landed safely on one engine about midday.
The air force said later the problem was not thought to have been in the engine but was thought to have been in the throttle or fuel system.
The aircraft should be back in action within a day or two.

Goodness...the 757 flyboys have had above average troubles with 2 well maintained 757s...lets hope they get over these recent problems... a one engine landing is no big deal however engine malfunctions on this type are occuring to often in the RNZAF?

One of the Boeings is flying at least because it just flew low over the university (Waikato) not more than 3 minutes ago. Beautiful sight it was, and so quiet.
