I thought after seeing the phoot of Ray Hanna in No. 19 Squadron ATC in this photo, as posted on the Ray Hanna and Mark Hanna thread yesterday: It would be interesting to see which other well known kiwi aviators and well known kiwis also served in the Air Training Corps. Here's a photo I scanned from Ron Hildreth's collection of No. 2 (Territorial) Squadron with some youngsters from a Wellington Air Training Corps squadron visiting: Some of you may recognise this face in the front row, Trevor Bland: So, are there any other phots out there like this with kiwi ATC cadets who went onto great things in aviation and other aspects of New Zealand life?

Just thought I would add that the aero club instructor standing on right of first photograph would be "Bob" Prentice, a wartime instructor and fighter pilot (in NZ/Pacific theatre). David D

Sir Kenneth Hayr was ex- No. 3 (Auckland) Sqn and was the unit's patron for many years up til his untimely death. www.rafweb.org/Biographies/Hayr.htm"Originating from Auckland in New Zealand Kenneth Hayr, where he was a member of No 3 (City of Auckland) Squadron, ATC, rising to the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer" Quite like how he retired for the RAF as an Air Marshall and then in 1993 was commissioned into the RAF(VR) as a Flying Officer to fly Air Cadets at a No. 6 Air Experience Flight.

Geoff White in that photo with Ray Hanna is a member here. I was chatting with him just the other day about those days.
