Hi guys- A few early development shots of Whenuapai in return for you answering a few questions about the recent changes there (new taxiway etc) Firstly- New imagery in Google Earth shows the new Taxiway which is good but it also shows the 03/21 runway lights may have moved slightly- Does anyone know if these were changed? (i.e position, type). They show on the slightly older imagery and i've used this to position them and the AIP data for the type....just unsure if they moved. The approach lights I've set to 'ALFS1' and the VASI to TVASI (there are only certain options in flight simulator) Any other 'plain english' details about the lighting would help- I can decipher most of the AIP details but am still unsure about center lights/edge lights. Anyway- Pics! These are quite early in development so are a bit rough!

That's very cool, but a wartime version would be cooler. Don't forget to install the silver Spitfire on a pole!

I remember Whenuapai before Mangere, when Air Movements was separated from the tarmac, and your aircraft, by a tiny white picket fence, and watching friends board a BOAC Comet iv.

Looks good. I have the VLC running on FSX (Windows7 64 bit) and it is very impressive. Swear by it. Sorry Dave a wartime version wouldn't fit in with FSX which is present day.

Can you select the visual approach aid lighting to PAPI, as that's what's installed there now?

Currently I have ALSF1/PAPI4 for 08/26 and ALSF1/TVASI 03/21 with high intensity lighting for both the runways as listed in the AIP plate......Im not 100% about these but have passed on the available options to an ATC friend of mine to select which might best fit. Has 03/21 moved to PAPI as well? (The AIP mightn't be updated yet?)
I've also spent today adding the new taxiway and having a play with custom ground overlays for the distinctive concrete hexagons on the aprons etc.

That's outstanding! Would be great to get the aeroclub / ga fuel pad etc on there too (as a few of us on here fly out of there) - brilliant work

Yep I have begun modelling the aeroclub buildings but the fuel tank there will be a generic NZ fuel tank from the VLC 3D object library. I was briefly part of the aeroclub there as well when I was working in Auckland.
