On my 1st trip to Crete in '03 I had just done my PADI Open Water, and was asked "do you want to dive the German plane?". As you can imagine,I got somewhat excited about this, but was then told that at 27mtrs,it was too deep for me. So,by my next trip there in '06,I had my Advanced OW and was rearing to go. the 1st centre I asked informed me it was "no use going there, just a little plane, bad vis, strong currents",so I went and found someone willing to take me(guide, and another diver, both German). What a buzz,a magical experience, the other 2 had to wait for me,I stayed for my max time, and took about 70 photos and lots of mpeg clips. Only a budget camera and housing, but you get the idea. I believe it's a G6,very little known about the circumstances of it's 'landing'. Tail section is off a wee bit,we didn't go to it. Lots of details can be seen, undercarriage, cowlings, machine gun(4th pic),etc. Anyways enough rambling...

Nice shots, mate... Looks reasonably clear for 27metres...doesn't look like you needed a flash either....how was the water temperature?
"...bad vis, strong currents...", heh heh...they should try diving the Wellington south coast!!!

Thanks. Can't find dive log,but off top of head probably around the 20degree mark at surface. I've got the bug for wrecks, but 'planes, especially WW2,are top choice for me,have a few lined up. Trying to get to Malta and I'll do the Blenheim,Beaufighter and Mosquito dives. I did the Lermintov on a NZ trip in '05,so guess the vis and temp roughly similar.
