For all his errors and misjudgements he seems to have a relatively good result. He must have been very happy to be able to stand on solid ground again.
It was good of him to have the strength to post them on YouTube also.
I fell into the trap of lingering in the lee of a hill during my 5 hour flight... fortunately I managed to rescue myself out of the situation. Again caused by complacency, just a loss of concentration while soaring on the top of a hill. I allowed myself to get blown too far back off it, and ended up well on the lee side.
This guy may well have done something similar. I am sure he will be more alert these days.
Very much a wake up call.
He must have had a few nervous minutes of flight there. It was scary enough just watching it.
