Those are some fantastic shots Gav, I especially like the ones with the two Spits, Mustang and Kittyhawks oh and the yaks. Also the Roaring forties in line abreastlow and head on with smoke on. A great photograph. Just may have to prise some money out of the Auster fund and get a couple! (Well the hangar walls are a bit boring so they would certainly improve things!)

There is no point in me ever taking a photo at a NZ airshow ever again... Great work, Gavin. What are you going to do for an encore?

Gavin those photos are absolutely fabulous. The daks being escorted was neat but my favourite has to be the first head on shot of the P40 firing its .50 cals with the shell casings below it. The Corsair head on shots were also brilliant as I'm partial to the Corsair.

So. Good. Thanks for all of them, but the Roaring Forties in line abreast does something for me.

I can only echo what others have said - we are privelledged to have such amazing shots displayed here! The photos also highlight the great variety of warbirds we have in NZ.
Thanks for sharing Gavin

Great shots, love the corsair head-on. The best display flying at the show in my opinion. Cheers

Great shots. My pick is the Avenger, 2 P40's and the Corsair. A group of planes our airforce flew. Just amagine that shot in RNZAF colours.

what can 1 say...................... simply superb. but... I see you found the hunter we were looking for in a previous shot/thread. Take it you used the ramp of the herk for quite a few of those shots I take it this was just some of the hundreds if not thousands that you took over the weekend.

Thanks for the comments in terms of the air to air photos the WW1 aeroplanes and the Hunter were photographed from a Cessna 206 and the remainder from a Hercules. Took a lot of photos as I was there for the whole week, not sure how many but am a lot more selective these days as the more you take the more time is needed at the computer and am not a big fan of sitting behind computers for long periods. Very pleased with the ground based photos and will try and do the same at Classic Fighters next year if I can find a nice quiet spot on the airfield.

Hi Dave, have thought of printing some posters but it is one of those things that needs to be done in mass to put the pricing where it needs to be.
Cheers Gavin
