Dragon Flight to the Mosquito Show



Smith’s Trans-Air NZ are offering a ride in vintage style to and from the Mosquito unveiling show.

The current plan is to fly to Ardmore before the show and return to North Shore that afternoon, mechanical and weather gods permitting (times TBC).

At present there are 5 seats available in each direction at $80 per seat (Round trip $150).

We are happy to have people fly/drive seat-swap with one another and will do our best to facilitate this.

The trip from North Shore will be approximately East Coast Bays-North Head-Musick Point-Whitford-Ardmore and the return similar with a flight time each way of approximately 40 minutes.

STANZ will also be offering scenic flights from North Shore on the Sunday after (or during, depending on interest and duration of the meet) the forum meet. These are $60 per seat for 20 minutes airborne in the local area.

All seats gone. Thought we might crack 1000 views before that happened but a fortuitous conversation at the aero club found a couple of passengers.

Of all you who are watching, are any of you intending to book one of the scenic rides on the Sunday from North Shore (any indication will help us plan the day).

Having sorted out the paper work, rides also available in the Foxmoth at $60 per seat for 20min from North Shore on the Sunday.

Update time: we will be offering scenic flights at Ardmore between the show slots. $60 per seat for 15 minutes in the local area. Note same price but shorter duration that the offer for Sunday.

Also if you have not booked to go to the Subritzky's this does not preclude visiting us at North Shore and going for a ride on the Sunday, but an indication of interest would be appreciated.

My lad and I had a wonderful flight in the Dragon yesterday, a real privilidge to fly in such a rare and historic aircraft.

These old beauties won't be around forever, I had a chance to fly in a Rapide last year at Duxford and the Fox Moth is next in my sights when i get back up North again.
