top man, yes I used to look out for any photos lying around that were interesting as well. I used to pop into the photo section once a month and go through the ones that they did not want plus if they wanted any foreighners done.

The last time I have seen images like this was back in the very eearly 90's when a mate went as maintenance on the old 'Vomit Comet' ( B727 ) to Europe with some veterans for an anniversary and got escorted over Turkey by a flight of F16's on each wing tip.
From memory it might have either been that trip or a similar one when I was on 40 Sqn and was in the flight line office and we were watching the 727 take off, max pax and max avaliable fuel, , he got the nose up about 1/2 way along then kept it there and didn't take the mains off till he got to the keyboards at the end. We were all going 'this is it, this is it"
I also remember when on 5 Sqn and the orions would go out and meet up with some A4's which would formate on their wingtips till they got radar contact themselves. We had a drawing somewhere of this with the caption "Fire and Forget" on it.

It's a shame they didn't have the photographer on board with them at the time, no doubt she was busy photographing the parade, or the practice for it.
