That radio jingle is catchy, though - to be honest - I don't remember hearing it. When it comes to radio ads, the one I do remember well is the Skybus jigle. (the ones still stuck in my head from that time are the TV commercial jingles for Mazda Wonder Light and the Crunchie Train Robbery).

Nasty, whiney thin music. Ghastly stuff.
If anybody ever asks me to name the worst song ever written, I'd say anything by the Beatles.

I prefered the Rolling Stones.
They were much more anti-establishment and therefore more interesting.
The Beatles were a bit too plastic-fingered for my tastes.
Mind you, Jimi Hendrix beat the whole lot of them when it came to "modern" music back during that era.
But back to those HUGE windows in that Viscount. I flew in a Viscount once....in early 1968 and I can remember how big those windows were compared with airliner windows today. I can also remember the big windows in NAC's Fokker Friendships and also the big windows in Air NZ's Douglas DC-8s.

Great recollections.
I have to say that The Beatles have grown on me a lot more since I've been older. My brother in law gave me some digital copies of most of their albums - a big amount of material in such a short space of time, and I have to say I'm enjoying them. Rubber Soul and Abbey Road are by far my favourites, but there are some classic tunes in that vast collection of music.
I should note that my favourite music from the era was The Pink Floyd Sound as they were known back then. Nothing quite like them around then, nor today, in fact. Pre Dark Side of the Moon era is my favourite; very esoteric.

This is one of the best, from Live at Pompeii, my favourite 'live' recording Pink Floyd (never actually) released. Little by little, the night turns around...

Please do, they are one of the greatest bands ever. Especially when Syd Barrett was composing most of their music at the beginning.
