Did anyone get any good pics, descriptions, or recollections of the WINGS and TAILPLANE of Skybus Viscount ZK-SKY? I'm not sure if the wings were all silver (natural metal), or if portions were painted white, or if the registration was painted on the wings. I've commissioned a professional model maker to construct a 1:48 scale model of this particular Viscount and so far, the only pics I could find (quite a few on this site) seem to indicate all-silver wings and an all-white horizontal stabilizer and elevator, but the angles of the shot are not conclusive.

I got this e-mail from brian.burrage@btinternet.com:
Hi Dean
Thanks for contacting us regarding the New Zealand Viscount ZK-SKY.
I can confirm that the wings, flaps and ailerons were bare polished metal. Horizontal Stabilizers and Elevators were painted white.
The wing leading edges tended to be polished more regularly along with the engine nacelles.
As you have probably seen, there is a small section of the wing leading edge outboard of the engines which is matt black. No evidence of any lettering or registration markings on the underside of the wings.
I hope this helps.
We would love to see photos of the model when finished.
Regards
