This picture is from my Dad's collection but I don't have any further information about its background. Is there any out there?

ZK-BRS was being operated by Aerodress Ltd when it was involved in this fatal crash at Waterfall Bridge near Weber on 12-07-1957. Pilot was Ken Wilde.

It was also fairly new at the time, being registered to Aerodress on 30May1957.

You guys are ON TO IT! Cheers. I've found some other accident pics, but not sure whether people want to see. Might be seen as macabre?

This one has been published before - The Topdressers I think
You can borrow my copy of the report if you like - PM me.
Can you post photos somewhere where people have to go look to find them? I'm interested but agree with you that they may be misinterpreted.
What was your father's connection with such things?

Nothing important, an opportunist really. Dad had an interest in aviation as a kid in the '40s and joined the RNZAF in 1958. He was already a private pilot by then but didn't have the necessary academic qualifications for the airforce as a pilot. So he served as a telegraphist/W.O.P. on Sunderlands in Fiji, Dakotas in 42 squadron, and at Ohakea on communications duties - he was on duty when DC-3 AYZ was reported overdue. He served at Ohakea until 1969.
He was always an avid aircraft enthusiast (where I got my bug, having devoured his entire collection of crash reports by the time I was 13, I've only found a handful of them since) and collected all sorts of memorabilia over the years. He stopped flying about 5 years ago due to failing health, it finally claiming him in February this year at 69.
Since then I've had a go at sorting out his workshop (he was a cabinet maker and joiner) and come across some of his stash (much has disappeared over the years). So I'm posting what i think might be of interest to the forum.

Just an aside - the property "Bloomfield" has just been sold after many, many years in the same family - the Franklins, of Central Hawke's Bay Aero Club fame
