I note that in the August CAA updates that this aircraft has now moved from Lee Middleton to Jerry Chisum at Hastings. It seems to have travelled around very little since its restoration, and hopefully we may now see this aircraft attend a few air shows.

See the article (with photos) by Jerry Chisum in the September edition of Aviation NZ News, on page 21.
Jerry and Jan ferried the Moth from Port Albert, Northland to Bridge Pa on 28th July. It turns out that they have both been waiting for years for the former owner (Lee Middleton) to agree to part with her. Jan's father flew the aeroplane from England to Sydney in 1934 before shipping it across the Tasman.

It's a beauty isn't it? I was admiring it at Ardmore from afar. It's the first time I have seen a DH60 in the air, so that was nice.

They really are beautiful machines those early Moths - and great to see one looking so good.

I had the huge honour of being invited by Jan and Jerry to fly the Gipsy this last weekend at the Tiger Club event at Taumaranui, a lovely little aeroplane, even if a little tight in the cockpit.
I am so glad Jan and Jerry now have this aeroplane, it has finally come full circle and will be very well looked after and be where she should be........up in the air.
