Great photos from the pits there John. I like theat shiny Ryan STA.
The Harvard in the first photo appears to have absolutely smooth skin with no rivets, how is that acheived? Do they bog over the rivets and sand it smooth before lots of coats of paint or resin?

Is that a Wright R-3350 Turbo-Compound engine? Those look suspiciously like velocity turbines.

Awesome photos, Reno is definitely one of the aviation events on my list to visit one day! (along with Oshkosh)

Hi Dave No- they flush rivet the Harvards / T-6s - wings and fuselage, lots of taping of seams, sealing the wheel wells ... and tweak the engine and prop to get the speed ... get about 80 mpg more than a stock Harvard ... they sound great and are usually pretty evenly matched racing. Yes - Wright 3350 which is what many of the US based Baghad Furies fly with now ( although one had the original Centaurus, and at least on a P&W 4360 - 4 row radial ). Good fun place - many stock warbirds as well. Few more photos. Interesting Tug Kiwi Connection with this Display on Mac McGregor for Sale

Great photos John. Man there are some sleek shiny aircraft there. They just look fast sitting there, even the Harvard/T6.
