Hi all, looking to get a new FS for Xmas. Can get FSX deluxe locally for $25. Is it stilla good sim or is there something else out there that would be better. Just want to fly around really, not into trying to do ILS approaches or anything like that.

Just watched that and spied this one: looks amazing, might have to get it for my FSX....cheap flying and some practice before my BFR.

FSX is outstanding with all the NZ scenery out there. I run VLC which is brilliant. Add Robin Corns real NZ and you are away. Lawrie AKA Snowman has awesome scenery found at avsim.com also.
Just make sure your PC is up too it.
Cheers

Yeah, its a deal from a local place, you can add/customize as you want so I went big on RAM and a decent 1GB graphics card. Complete with 21" monitor and W7 was only $900.

I have FSX and use VLC and it's really worth it. I have a 3.2 Ghz quad core processor with a 1GB vid card and 8GB of RAM running W7. It's 3 years old and is based on a gamers setup. I just fly around mostly Nz and am a type hog. I collect aircraft just because I can and enjoy the different types. At moment am aiming to collect as many of the types the RNZAF flew. Also looking at possible future types. You most definitely have plenty of choice.
