There used to be a B24 base not far from Marble Bar (150 - 200km inland from Port Hedland) in the Pilbara, North Western Australia. It's put in the middle of nowhere and well out of range of anything the Japanese had, & even if they did how would they find it. Apparently there were bombing air bases all over the outback there. There's nothing there just red dirt green scrub and snakes, lots of snakes. It's also the area where the Aussie SAS like to play.
