Hi guys, this is a great thread. Could anyone here let me know what type of seat harness our early Harvards had fitted? US or British?
I am finishing up a model of NZ914 for someone and want to get it right.
Cheers Anthony

Wow, that is interesting, who's is that Catalina? Definately not RNZAF, it has wheels. Nice to see the Hinds too. Can you make out the serial on that silver and camouflaged Hind?

The Hind with side number 4 has serial NZ1555 which, according to ADFSerials, has the following history:
Built to contract number 424397/35 and delivered between November 1936 and August 1937. Previously K6786 with RAF. Delivered to No.504 Squadron 29 April 1937. To No.20 Maintenance Unit 15 May 1938. To No.19 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School 18 August 1939. To No.12 Flying training School 03 September 1939. To No.30 Maintenance Unit 13 september 1940. To No.47 Maintenance unit 05 December 1940. To RNZAF 14 february 1941. Assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot and BOC 06 April 1941 with Unit 1, Hobsonville. Converted to instructional airframe INST75 with No.2 TTS, Nelson in 1943.
The closest Hind has side number 8 (I think) but I cannot see a serial number.
The Catalina does appear to have a fin-flash with at least two stripes (the left (or centre if there are three) stripe appears to be white). A faint serial number can be seen at the base of the vertical tailplane (stabiliser?) - unfortunately I cannot read it. If you like I can PM you the original.
