Looks like concrete apron, so not Taieri. Houses look too close in the background too. It wouldn't be the opening of Rongotai would it?

Great shots! That last one seems to have an Anson, an Oxford, ten Harvards, two Vampires and an Avenger. With that many Harvards away from home I wonder if this is an Exercise Red Owl open day or something similar. Or are they Territorial Air Force Harvards? Is the location perhaps Taieri? I think it is ..., nine Harvards, one Mustang, ...

That means definitely not the opening of Rongotai as Nooby suggested as the Mustangs were long gone from service by then (26th of October 1959).

Two ground collisions - RNZAF Museum NZ1065 and NZ1085, 25th Oct 1955 NZ1082 and NZ1069, 14th April 1953 Interesting, all four of these Harvards are still around today, 50 years later, despite these accidents, NZ1065 flying from Ardmore with Frank Parker; NZ1082 is the CAF one grounded at North Shore; and NZ1085 is a flyer in Aussie. NZ1069 is somewhere...?

RNZAF Museum Wigram Airshow prior to Deep Freeze relocating to Harewood NZ1009, I was stoked to see this photo featuring NZ1077 in a formation. I've not seen that shot before. I purchased this very aircraft about 18 months ago from Kerry Horrell after it having been in the family since his dad bought it ex RNZAF back in 1964. I feel very privileged to be her current custodian. Any other pictures of NZ1077 eagerly anticipated and sincerely appreciated. Cheers Peter.

Yep those bottom three are mine, I took them in the early 90's when 1077 was up on poles at the Horrell home. She came down not long after that and spent the next two decades warm and dry in a shed. Photos to follow once I retrain on uploading pics to here. Not sure about the top pic? ??

1077 as-found and where she sat for more than two decades. Of course I knew all about the aircraft and had visited very occasionally over the years. But never dreamt she would one day be ours. Just a few short blocks from my place
